Instructions for making a line graph in Google Drive:
Note: These instructions assume you have some familiarity with Excel and are able to open an Excel spreadsheet. If you aren't, go ask Ms. White or whomever you think might know and have/or be willing to take the time to teach you....If all else fails there is always "Google", "Bing", "Startpage", etc
1. Your x-axis will be in the first column.
Label it as whatever it’s going to be (time, distance, hotdogs, apples, etc.) from smallest
measurement to largest and make sure that it is constant for all of the y-measurements. 2.
2. Then do your y-axis in the column adjacent to your x-axis and to the right of it.
3. Then go to “Insert<Chart” and that will pop up the chart menu.
4. In the chart menu you will see a section that says “Data” and “Select Ranges.
5. ” Click “Select Ranges and highlight the information that you want in your graph and press Okay.
6. Now go to the next tab in the pop-up menu and select Line Chart as your type of chart. Then go back to the previous tab and make sure that “Use row 1 as headers” and “Use column A as labels” is checked in the checkbox.
7. You can then go to the “Customize” tab and label the axis and set measurements and things like that.
Just be careful and keep track of what you do and undo it if necessary.
Always remember to press “Insert” or “Update” instead of exiting the pop-up window.
You can add more lines by adding another column of information to the right of the previous column and using the “Select Ranges” to modify what info the graphs use.
